How do I add another mailbox to my BigPond Email Account?

Eligible Bigpond customers can request an additional Bigpond email address and mailbox. BigPond email customers can add up to 14 mailboxes to their accounts, each having a different email address.
They can also get 10GB of storage space to use across their mailboxes.

Before you add or close a mailbox:

You need the login credentials like primary Bigpond email address and password.


Each Email service provider or Broadband services have a single primary username/password that is for the exclusive use of the account holder to access Member Services, My Account and their Bigpond Email account.

  • View your usage, bills online
  • Setup
  • Access you’re My Account profile
  • Access the primary Bigpond Email account
  • Add/remove up to 14 additional secondary usernames for email access.


  • Can be added/ removed in My Account by the account holder for family members at no additional cost.
  • Provide each secondary account access to its own Bigpond email address, inbox and free email service.

Note: The primary account’s username cannot be changed online, you can view reset its password.

Add a mailbox:

  1. Log in to Bigpond 24×7 My Account with your Bigpond ID
  2. Select the ‘Plans and Usage’ section followed by Manage your email accounts
  3. Look for the list of current and past email addresses. Select Add Mailbox
  4. Enter the username you want, and check its availability
  5. Enter a password that complies with the password parameters
  6. Select Confirm. Allow 30 minutes for your new mailbox to be set up.

Close a Mailbox:

  1. Log in to Bigpond 24×7 My Account with your Bigpond ID
  2. Select the ‘Plans and Usage’ section followed by Manage your email accounts
  3. You will find the list of current and past email addresses there. Select the mailbox that you want to close them and then click the Close mailbox
  4. Select Confirm. It will take 30 minutes for your mailbox to be closed.

Reopen a Mailbox:

If you closed a mailbox in the last 6 months and you are an existing Bigpond customer, you can contact us to see if it can be reopened.

Important Facts:

Mailboxes that have been closed more than 6 months ago cannot be reactivated.
